Hi,
I tried wiring my own cables to connect the the RJ45 serail management
port of my sun servers but was unable to get to the lom. I'm about to
purchase a cable from cdw and I'd like to make sure that this one will
work. Here are the specs to the RJ45-DB9 Female connector:
http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/specs.aspx?EDC=675530
Will I be able to get to the lom with this cable from hyperterminal?
Sorry for the newbie questions, I probably should go back to the dell
servers because I'm more familiar with them than these sun boxes.

Get a cisco console cable kit from eBay. Same pinout, they work fine,
and there's probably a dozen up for auction now.
The APC part # won't be the right pinout, they are different. While
there is some standard, nobody follows it. The cisco pinout is the one
most network gear has fallen into use.
