It's supposed to go to STANDBY when the lid is closed, but in
fact it keeps running, and gets hot. If the ports are blocked,
as in a carrying case, it gets very hot.

This is something new. I don't think the CPU got hot enough to
do damage this time, but had it been put away for the evening
damage might have been done.

I rebooted, checked again, and all's well regarding power
management...
