I have an Epox 8K3A+ which is about to die. Here is the items I would
like to keep if I can find a motherboard which will let me use them.

My System is as follows:

Epox 8K3A+ (BIOS Release Date: 03/28/2002)

Athlon XP 1800 Retail - Swiftech MCX462 (This Huge Fan needs 4 holes
in the motherboard to hold it down)

ATI 8500DV 64Mbs

Creative Labs Audigy Sound Card

512 MB OCZ PC-2700 "Ultimate" Rev Cas 2

(2) 40.0GB ATA/133 ATA 37GB / MAXTOR 6L040J2

(1) 13.6 Gig ATA/66 Maxtor 91366U4

Asus DVD Player

Hewlett Packard CD-Writer 9100i

I would love to find a motherboard which has USB 2.0.. This is my 1st
real homemade computer and I would like to keep as much of the parts
in it as possible. Is there some work arounds that I could do like
with the hard drives, memory, etc.. Any help would be great..

It is getting harder to find Socket 462 (socket A) boards at retail.
Ebay would be one place to look.

The Pricewatch list is down to a couple pages, and the best of the
lot here might be an A7N8X motherboard.

http://www.pricewatch.com/motherboards/socket_462.htm

The A7N8X is sold by a company called GearXS. Note the resellerratings
before doing business with them. Their rating is pretty poor, which
is unfortunate. The A7N8X listed is OEM, meaning you don't get a box
of accessories with it. One would hope the boards are actually working.
I expect you lose money, if you attempt to return it for a refund.

Another question would be the A7N8X warranty. A retail board would be
3 years. When it is OEM, I'm not sure what the warranty terms are.

So Ebay would be the other place to look.

In terms of listing motherboards for a particular socket, this site can help.
If you select "Socket A (462)" from the socket menu, there are 895 entries
returned:
