Is there any way of utilizing the built in OCR program in HP Director
to OCR other files such as JPGs?

I tried to figure out a way to that with HP Director and never could. For
this kind of OCR purpose, I have been using "Microsoft Office Document
Imaging". It works well for me, and is 'free' in that it is a feature
within MS Office. If you are interested, I can send you more information as
to how to invoke this feature of Office.

Thanks for the info John. I have a very old regimental history which
was photocopied and then scanned to jpg format. The type font is an
old style plus being the 3rd generation doesn't help things a lot.

I have gotten the Microsoft Document Imaging working OK and now have
to learn how to use it properly so that will keep me busy.
