Hello,
I recently bought an HP Color LaserJet 4500.

I've a question about PCL6 compatibility

the laserjet 4500 manual , page 16
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00634169/c00634169.pdf
say the laserjet 4500 printer support PCL5c and Postscript emulation

the laserjet 4550, page 18
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/bpl08785/bpl08785.pdf
say the laserjet 4550 printer support PCL6, Postscript 3 and PCL5c

by comparing
http://www.printerworks.com/DataSheets/ColorLaserJet4500.html and
http://www.printerworks.com/DataSheets/ColorLaserJet4550.html

I also understood that PCL6 was added on Laserjet 4550.

BUT :
the HP PCL6 universal printer driver file
\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\hpupd_pcl6 contain an entry about
Laserjet 4500

http://www.hp.com/large/ipg/assets/tpm/hp-universal-print-driver-series-for-windows.pdf
http://www.hp.com/go/upd

My test show laserjet 4500 is a PCL6 unofficial printer !

If anyone has any experience about laserjet 4500 and PCL 6...
