Windows XP Pro, SP2
Dell Inspiron 9300 Notebook

I installed the following applications:

SnagIt
Poser

When I double click to start the program, the hard disk whirs, but the application never opens up. No error, nothing it just never opens the application.

Uninstalling/re-installing the application does nothing.

This happened with Word Perfect, too some time ago but it just stopped opening. It wasn't after an install or update, it just stopped working. WP tech support was useless.

I eventually had to re-install the OS and that fixed it. This happened to Word Perfect on my partners desktop (HP Pavillion) once as well and I had to re-install the OS to fix it.

Does anyone have any ideas why this happens? All my other applications work fine.
