I have a friends computer that she paid someone else to build. About 6 months
ago she said that when windows got to the black window screen it froze. As a
temporary fix I told her to put in the XP cd when she boots but don't push
any buttons, thinking that some of the files were corrupted, windows booted
up fine with the CD. Once I actually got to sit down at the computer and
troubleshoot I figured the best way to fix this is to completely reinstall
windows. That was about 4 months ago and now the computer is doing the same
thing again and booting to the cd doesn't work anymore.

Can anyone give me some suggestions?

I was thinking maybe the hard drive is corrupt?

Please help
