With my Canon LIDE 60 connected to the computer, upon booting up at the
desktop screen, it constantly reboots. No problems if I disconnect the USB
cord from the scanner. Time for a new scanner or is it a software problem.
Thanks.

I have a LIDE 70 and it draws a LOT of power. As i have a weak power supply in
my computer, i can use either my new graphic card OR my scanner with my computer
but not both at the same time! My next move is to buy a 400 watts (or more) for
my computer.

I suspect highly that your problem is the same as mine: a too weak power supply
in your computer...

Thanks for suggestion. Although I have 450 watt power supply we did have
storm since the last time I used my Lide 600F canoscan. Now the darn thing
will get half way through the scan and then abort with error message. I
reinstalled everything, but as you say that storm could have knocked out
part of my powersupply parts. I did have it plugged into a power strip to
protect it since I lost unprotected one in Hawaii once. I threw away my
Lide 500F because it had loose connecttion to USB input. I was starting to
think that all cannon is poorly made. But I'll get the volt ohm tester out
and see what happened to power..

Parenthetically what symptomes yours has when running on empty tank of
electrons?

Thanks again for great suggestion
!
