My 5P laserprinter business letter printout is blemished by having two
text fragments (each ca. 1.3 cm. wide) repeat themselves as faint
ghost image blotches at regular intervals down the portrait page.
The vertical interval of repetition between these ghosts is 7.7 cm (3
inch') - which I suspect is related to the circumference of some
rotating part. FWIW, the two ghost series were horizontally located at
3- & 10 cm. from the A4 right edge, and the ghosting seemed to run in
tandem - blotches of both series appearing at same relative height.
Replacing the toner cartridge didn't help. I suspect the machine may
have undergone a sticky-label-in-innards trauma, but none of the
household members is prepared to 'fess up <g>. Any advice on a part
which I can safely clean or cheaply replace? Fuser?. Thanks.

On this printer the drum (in the toner cartridge) and one of the fuser rollers
are the same diameter (75mm).
It looks like the fuser roller is danaged. If you open the back door and
examine the rollers you may be able to see the corresponding part of the
roller, otherwise you may need to remove the fuser to examine it properly.
