Hi,

I've a bit of a problem with my X1950 pro regarding
video playback, mostly with avi and wmv files.

There was a lot of irregular color shifting when playing
certain video files in any video player including the
windows media player.

Couldn't solve it with one of the earlier Catalyst drivers but
with the latest one (7.4) I've got things working a bit better.

With the older Catalyst driver, I had to disable hardware
acceleration AND direct-x video acceleration in the
mediaplayer and the result was very noisy / blocky video
playback (no smoothing or de-interleaving).

With the newest driver, I can now enable hardware
acceleration and the playback result is much much better.
So the new drivers are definitely an improvement for me.
When I enable direct-x video acceleration, the color
shifting is back so I just leave that one disabled.

The problem is, I don't have these kind of settings in other
programs like power dvd so now I can only use the
mediaplayer to play certain videos without the constant
color shifting.

Did some google searches and found several mentions
about cleaning and reinstalling drivers but non of it was
helping. Reinstalling windows didn't help when I had the
older Catalyst drivers; haven't tried that yet with the 7.4.

Do you have any suggestions?
