Is Dell coming up with a new Inspiron laptop line to replace the current
line this year? Other companies are incorporating built in web-cams in their
lines. Will Dell do this for the Inspirons this year or is it just going to
be more of the same? |

Right now Dell computers feel solid, and I like the looks compared to
the other laptops that are out.

Scratch that. On second thought, Dell could improve a bit on the
build qualilty. They are solid, certainly more solid than models from
the past. My prior 14" Inspiron P-M's screen hinges came loose and
the screen flopped around until I sent it in. The build of my current
laptop is good but I am very careful with how I adjust the screen. I'd
like to get more competant with fixing simple problems like that
myself. |

I think it is going to be hard to improve on the existing design and
looks, and it will be interesting what they come up with.
I would like to see the 12" model moved back to the Inspiron line.
Right now Dell computers feel solid, and I like the looks compared to
the other laptops that are out.
I like the silver. How are they going to follow up on that? Back in
black?
Having a web cam is going to be more and more important as a selling
point, so I think it would be a mistake for them to not offer that as
an option. They should offer a webcam with a microphone.
Maybe a few dedicated configurable buttons where the power button is
now. VOIP, Messenger, Media? The problem with this is all the calls
support would get wondering how to use them.
I'm happy with what I have. I have a 2 year complete care warranty on
this 640m. Does anyone know if I can easily extend it to 3 or 4
years? I am tempted to go for 4.
This laptop finally fits into the "good enough" category, like almost
all of my other gadgets. I can't even think of a gadget that I would
want right now. Life is good. |
