|
|
I took a few photos in very dark conditions, almost black (i.e. no
additional light of any kind) inside the house with a casio exlim ex-v7,
just to see how the flash coped.
What i got consistantly was semi-transparent pinky-orange footballs usually
about three or four to seven in number all in different positions in
different photos.
Apart from being round pinky Aliens, could anyone explain to a novice what
might cause this? thanks. |

These kinds of things (almost always circular) are caused by tiny dist
particles in the air. On many of today's cameras, the flash is quite
close to the lens, and so tiny dust particles in front of the lens are
brightly illuminated.
In the old days (when manufacturers thought a flash that was 4-6" away
from the lens was the way to combat redeye), this dust in the air was
a virtual non-issue because the flash was not able to brightly
illuminate dust particles so close to the lens.

Thanks to all. So its out with vacuum cleaner then.
It's annoying, and I guess from what you say there is no solution to it,
using this camera. |
