I am mainly posting this as a FYI, and for someone doing a Google
search wondering if the XPS 410 can handle 4 internal drives.

Yes, it can. I just installed a 4th interna hard drive in my computer
(300G Seagate 16m cache $79 Comp USA).

After you install the 3rd and / or 4th drives under the optical drives
(CD or DVD), the cover on the front of the computer for the drive
bay(s) of the drives you are installing will be able to be on --
there will be no open space on the front of your computer.

Two of the hard drives go in the bottom area where there are slots
designed for them. You will need right angle SATA cables for them. If
you get an OEM drive, the cable likely is not included.

The other two can go in the drive bays under your CD or DVD and can
use regular SATA cables (you don't need a right angle for those). To
install them, open your computer, take off the front plastic part
surrounding the front drives, unscrew anything that happens to be in
the slot where you are installing (a card reader for example) and
slide it out the front.

When you put the drive in, put screws first on the inside part of the
drive so it will slide in the slot, slide the drive in, and then put
two other screws on the outside side. There is a blue sliding part
that needs to be slided to put one of the screws in near the front of
the computer.

My 4th drive is installed where the card reader used to be. I am
having trouble getting the cover for the card reader to fit in the
front, so right now I have it taped on. I am fairly certain though
that it can cover the drive without tape.

Disclaimer: I do not know if there are any power problems (i.e. if
the power that comes with the computer) is ideal for 4 drives. I also
don't know if there are any heat issues with having 4 drives. I don't
think so, but those are things that could possibly be a problem (on
mine so far so good).

I've been running four for awhile, three of which are big 750GB
Seagates. Works fine. I can also confirm that the cover fits on without
tape.
