Is it possible to use two internal hard-disk on a sun ultra 5 ?

If it is possible, how can this be done?

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Bolt them both in, connect them, possibly worry about master/slave stuff.

Hi,

Thanks on your sharing.

I have tried two hdd ie one master and one slave.

Able to "probe-ide" but when boot up from master, and using
"format" , not able to see slave hence not able to fsck or mount
slave.

Is there something missing.?

I've done this with both ultra 5s and 10s. The biggest issue seems to
be drive size. As I recall, anything over about 120GB is not
supported. Sun used to make a kit (bracket and cable) to mount a
second drive in an Ultra 5. I bought one on eBay and it worked fine.

Hi,

Any part-number for the kit (bracket and cable) ?

How much does it cost you ie the kit

thanks/rgds
