Hi,
I just bought a cheap webcam and would like to save some videos on hard
drive.
The software which was delivered with the webcam is very simple and
seems to allow only "avi" format for the saved files. When I record a 30
second film the file has more than 200 MB...
Now I'm looking for a software which allows to save the video in other
formats like mpeg or so to create small files.

Hi Jens,
I have got the same problem. The DLink support did not know that there
is another
software called DLink DViewCam Vers 1.2 available on their ftp
Server.
I tried to install this software recently without success. Maybe you
have more luck.
It will reduce the capacity of your video streaming on your harddisk
because it
will save with mp4 format and not like IP-View 1.0 in .avi
