Buffer overrun detected!

Program: C:\WINNT\Explorer.EXE

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the programs
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

How do I fix this??

Do you have a firewall? If not, get one. A buffer overflow is one of the most common exploits that hackers use to crash your system.

It could also be that something else is causing the buffer to burst like a bug that Microsoft didn't catch. What were you doing/programs were you using when you got the message?

I had downloaded a file sharing program called shareeza and I kept getting tons of pop up ads so I installed a blocker and that did not work so I therefore uninstalled that one and tried another and STILL go ads, and in the meantime this came up so I just uninstalled the file sharing program and the blockers.

As for a firewall I don't think I have one.... I know I do have a linksys router installed and I am running 3 computers off it.
