I have a WD 120 GB IDE hard drive. I simply don't have room to install
it as an internla drive; are there any available USB unit drives that
will allow me to "plug in" this Internal IDE drive and read and use
the contents of it with my machine?

Pracitally every one. Make sure it has adequate cooling.

Kingwin does. Get the ones with a built-in fan that's powered
by a dedicated power module.
