Athlon 64 FX51 == Opteron 148 (pretty much no difference) - 2.2ghz, single
CPU, 400fsb dual channel, 3 HT (no concurrency), 1nb cache, socket 940
Opteron 248 - same, but dual-capable
Opteron 848 - same, but > dual capable
Athlon 64 3200+ == 2.0 ghz, 1mb cache, 1ht, 400fsb single channel, sock 754
Athlon 64 3000+ == 1.0 ghz, 512kb cache, 1ht, 400fdb single, sock 754
Opteron 140-146 == 1.4/1.6/1.8/2.0 ghz, 1mb cache, 3ht, 333fsb dual channel,
socket 940
240-246 -- duals, etc
840-846 -- dual+ etc
I read somewhere that there was going to be a 400fsb version of the 146/246,
but can't confirm that.

In practice, that's more like 200mhz as compared to current systems. As for
whether it's worth upgrading, it depend on what you plan to do with it.
For gaming, yes, probably.

I'm not sure. There are nice single-channel socket 940 boards if you don't
plan to use duals
