Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for suggestions from experienced Laser users as to what
budget models I should be looking at for very low usage, mono printing
at home. By very low usage, I mean maybe up to 20, 5 page letters and
associated envelopes a week! I'm considering a Laser because there maybe
times when I don't print for weeks and I realise that an inkjet printer
might be problematic if left unused for weeks at a time.

Many thanks,
John.

I am in the some position. Most of the inexpensive printers do not work with
MS Vista. Any recommendation for Vista....

Your IP address suggests you're in the UK. If you're anywhere near the
West Midlands I have a Brother HL-1050 mono laser I'm looking to part with
for a nominal sum (several pints of beer..!). It has a parallel port and a
USB port, there's also a print server box available if you want to connect
it to a network.

It works with Win 98 through to XP, not tried it with Vista. It also works
with DOS, should you be a luddite like me <g>

It's long out of production so supplies might be a problem, but there are
two unused toner cartridges with it, which should last for 2000+ sheets
each. The drum has plenty of life in it though I think.

Email me at the sending address (replace .invalid with .com) if
interested.

Yes, but you obviously didn't get my reply. Basically I said that with
your location, it would probably cost as much as the printer is worth to
send it by post, it's quite a heavy beast..! I'd check locally with
somewhere like Staples first to see what they have, if you still want it
let me know.

Cheers,
Ivor
