On a system of mine (workstation Siemens with WinXPPRO SP2), some USB
keys are ignored. When I connect one of these, the key flashes for 1-2
seconds, as when a system begins to recognize an USB key, but then it
stops. No message of any type from the system, just the key ignored.
With other types of keys (as mp3 readers), instead, the key is
recognized normally and the USB interfaces of this system run fine
with other devices.
With other systems the ignored USB keys are usually recognized.
Is there a way (an USB test program, for example) to undestand the
reason of this behaviour?
Thanks.

It could be a power problem. I suppose you connected keys with the USB
ports on the front panel.
Try to connect them with USB ports on the back of PC.
USB Ports placed on the back of the PC are stabler. |
