hello group,
like many of you, i have extra hard drives of older files laying
around, unattached.
can you guys point me to a device that i can put these into that make
it USB ready? (preferably more than one at a time)
like a case that holds multidrives and then connects to my computer
via USB,,,,anything like that out there??

I can't help but think you would be better off, though, to just buy a
large hard drive and copy what you needed onto it. How many and how
large are your extra hard drives? |

USB 2.0 enclosures can be had for $15... Why not just buy a few and mount
the drives in them. Works great here! |

USB 2.0 enclosures can be had for $15... Why not just buy a few and mount
the drives in them. Works great here!

What he said! I've got three old 200gB drives installed in identical
inexpensive enclosures and use them for backup, rotating them in and out
of my bank's vault as often as I remember to do so.
But if you just _must_ have multiple drives online at one time more
expensive enclosures are available (much more expensive!). Here is one
example http://www.cooldrives.com/trdubayusb20.html but this site and
others offer similar external enclosures for up to 4 drives IIRC.
