i have a new gateway computer that has a regular size ps in it also has a
micro mother board, on the mother board there are 24 pins and the ps that
came with it has 20 pins. i plan on getting a larger powersupply about 550
the one in it now is 300w. Question is with the new power supply do i use 24
pin plug or the 20 pin plug.

Are you saying that the 20-pin power supply is plugged into a 24-pin connector
on the motherboard? And, of course, there is the additional 4-pin 12v
connector?

The evolving BTX standard calls for a 24-pin power supply, so you probably have
a choice if your motherboard works fine with the 20-pinner... Ben Myers
