My HP quit downloading files about two weeks ago. I get an error either saying the source is not online or the download is not allowed. And these are just regular application downloads or even IE Upgrades.
Also, at around the same time, it stopped playing videos and anything flash. I tried reinstalling all of my video players and setting each one as I did it as the default program. When that didn't work, I tried reinstalling flash.. and it won't allow the download.
I don't know whats wrong with this thing. I've tried everything I can think of. I disabled my firewall. I checked all of the drivers that I could think of. I even tried running my restore disk, but all it does is give me read-only files.
My boyfriend downloaded a game trial, I can't remember the game, but it was a pretty big file and couldn't be used and he deleted it. Could that have taken my video and flash files with it? I've run virus and spyware scans.
I don't know what else I can do, so I decided to get someone who knows what they're doing to help Thanks in advance. |

I tried that and it killed it lol. It won't fully run the restore disks. It freezes up during the second disk and will not go past the black screen informing me windows is not operating properly. I'm just going to call it a loss. I have a friend willing to rebuild the whole thing, so I might even do that. Thank you |

I hope you do not have any valuable personal data on the computer. If you do,
make sure that it somehow gets copied before doing a clean install of Windows,
which would likely fix the problem. Of course, you would also have to reinstall
any software you use that is not part of Windows itself... Ben Myers
