Hi

I've just built a system comprising:

Pentium 4 2.4GHz CPU (800MHz FSB)
MSI GNB Max-2 Motherboard (Intel E7205 Chipset), supports 533MHz or 400MHz
FSB CPU
512MB DDR 2700 Memory
ATA100 IDE Hard Drive (80GB)

The problem is that the CPU is only being recognised as a maximum of
1.58GHz, which is 133 * a multiplier ratio of 12.

I have installed the motherboard drivers & intel application accelerator,
but the BIOS still only lets me go up to a clock multiplier ratio of 12
(*133MHz).

Here's a link for the motherboard:
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detail_spec/product_detail.asp?model=845P
E_Max2-FISR&search_text=

I'm tearing my hair out over this as it's meant to be a Xmas present!! What
am I missing?

Thank for any help

Dean

Hi,

Your problem is you have an 800Mhz bus CPU and a board that only supports up
to 533Mhz.bus.
I think you are going to either have to swap the board or CPU I'm afraid to
say.

Yep. There are a couple of different 2.4GHz Pentium 4's: The
100x24 "A", the 133x18 "B" and the 200x12 "C".

You have the C, you need either the A or the B.
