Hi, I have searched newsgroups and web sites but can't find a solution
to this problem. Would greatly appreciate any advice.
I have the opportunity of purchasing a used notebook, each with ATI
mobility radeon capabilities and I have had the same problem with a Dell
D600 and a Compaq EVO N610C.
When trying to use the S-Video out to TV - I get only the desktop image
on the TV, no desktop icons show on the TV, no applications run on he
TV. Even though they are running on the notebook screen. I did
(somehow) manage to get my "mouse pointer" to show on the TV even
though there was nothing there to point to.
I have adjusted the sizes; 600x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and colour 16 and
32 bit - No Difference.
The display software recognizes the TV and will print the "1" on the
notebook screen and a "2" on the TV screen.
Anyone know what I have to do to get the applications to show on the TV.
My main purpose is to play *.avi files on the TV screen.

What you need to do is go into your display properties on the settings
tab and uncheck the box marked "extend my windows desktop onto this
monitor" and your main display will show up on your tv as well.
