I have a one month old Gateway laptop bought from Best Buy.
When it is charging the LED indicator is a bright Pink.
Red is supposed to mean a bad battery.

So I contacted Gateway and after a runaround where they thought my laptop
was over a year old (with Visat preinstalled !!!)
sent me a replacement battery.

Well it does tha same thing with the new battery.

Now they want me to send the whole computer in.

What color do your indicators light when charging?

Mine is Blue when not charging, Pink when charging.
