OT? anyone used AMD PowerNow for desktop?
i have two AMD server mobos and in the bios
they both have an option for PowerNow
(which i presently have turned off)
would i see any benefit from turning it on?
all ears and TIA

Well, of course. PowerNow is what is known as Cool'N'Quiet on AMD
desktops. Same technology. You'll find the machine runs quieter and cooler.

Well, of course. PowerNow is what is known as Cool'N'Quiet on AMD
desktops. Same technology. You'll find the machine runs quieter and cooler.

thank you yousuf! i'll try it on both
one at a time. :)
on a side note, my 2CPU mobo (a pair of AMD
Opteron 250's) has bios with an option for MPS
(Multi Processor something or other) 1.1 or 1.4
(presently set to 1.1)
a google on it didn't get me much
any clue of benefit/risk of going to 1.4?

Never heard of it until now. Try and see if you see a difference. You
can always go back (hopefully).
