I have been given a PC by my neighbour - it is an old one Dell Optiplex but it will serve it's purpose for me I hope lol
I have installed my AOL to it but it isn't picking up my modem. Having spoken to AOL tech help and ran some tests and stuff, they say it is my Network interface card???
I have now learnt that that is my ethernet card - this Dell doesn't have one it has an ethernet port which is linked to the motherboard - what can I do to respolve this problem please?
I have done the start, run, CMD, ipconfig and it comes up with nothing.
I have een to the Dell site and tried to find a driver to put onto CD to install it to the Dell but can't seem to get my head around it.
ANY help whatsoever would be fab as I am currenlty using my hubby's work PC and he desperately needs it back.
Thanks in advance |

Do you connect to the internet using a phone line or cable/DSL? Ethernet card and ethernet port serve the same purpose, but if you connect with a phone line, you would need a phone modem, not an ethernet port/card. We should be able to provide more help if you explain how you normally connect to the internet.
