I have a Precision 670 with a U320 SCSI hd controlled by the on-board
AIC-7901. I was wondering if anyone knew whether it is possible to
create a RAID 0 by adding a new disk, and creating the array between
the existing disk and the new disk without losing existing data. The
documentation specifies that a "Migrate" option is available on that
machine for SATA RAIDs using a "Normal" method (as oppsed to
"Express"), but it does not specify if that is also possible for SCSI
(the documentation only walks through the "Express" method).

I would think that RAID functionality is implemented independently of
the actual interface, and it should support all the features the same
way on SATA and SCSI. Dell's technical upport "was not sure" and sent
me to Adaptec, but I could not find anything relevant there.

Has anyone ever tried it? Or heard whether that can be done?

Thanks.
