|
|
I have had a spate of "Delayed Write Failed" the past month where,
after rebooting and consequently losing access to the C drive, I
would need to reinstall the OS after several tries to access the hard
drive. The drive is a Seagate ST36607LW Scsi and I also have two
Seagate 160 gig Sata drives on the same board, Asus P4C-800 ED with
the latest bios update. I thought it could be a number of things like
the scsi adapter, the cable, the motherboard, etc. and a possible
incompatibility with the Sata drives, since it would happen, I
believe, when I was transferring files from one of the Sata drives to
the Scsi drive. I called Seagate and asked them about this and they
asked that I RMA the board since it was still in warranty. I'm now
running a WD IDE drive on the system and haven't had any problems for
nearly two weeks, so that eliminates the motherboard. Is the
Scsi-Sata incompatibility possible, or was the scsi drive most likely
going south? |

| Just due to bad sectors on the drive. |

Or none of the above. Something wrong with Agent's threading?
What exactly makes you think that the response was to your post?
(And may I suggest that you disable auto line breaks) |

Nah, just my usual response to the clueless.
Of course the clueless never take the hint and
demand that it is put directly "in their face".

Not as bad as your headache, when you try to think, thanks. |
