I successfully formatted a CD-RW disk using Nero with a MRW-UDF
format. Everything works fine and I can use the CD just like a hard
disk. for moving, copying files. Currently the disk is shown as half
full.

However if I transfer the CD to another PC or boot up on a different
hard drive, although I can still read the CD, it is shown as full, and
no further files can be transferred to it without an error message
saying that the disk is 'read-only'. On booting up back to the
original hdd, the cd becomes writable once again.

Is this normal?

It is normal if the second computer does not have packet-writing

software (such as Ahead's InCD - part of the Nero package) installed.

Note that that is the least reliable and most fragile format available
for optical drives. It is useful for some test purposes but not
advisable otherwise.
