Compaq Presario 6000
Windows XP
Dialup connection with factory modem
Connection drops out after 1 or 2 minutes.
Have to redial and reconnect every 2 minutes typical.
Sometimes stays connected for 1/2 hour or more.
Modem test says OK.
ISP says connection ok (same on 4 numbers)
any thoughts?

Hi
thanks for the input.
Another computer works at this location on dialup connection using same
phone line.
This coumputer modem hangs up on another phone line.
All tests say modem is working.
