Hi everyone:

I posted this to the microsoft.public.windows.live.messenger newsgroup on
news.microsoft.com but have yet to receive a response. I figured I might
try here.

The following is an edited version of that post as it was in response to a
pre-existing thread.

Subject: Re: lifecam 3000 issues? Can anyone help?

I just purchased a LifeCam 3000 and I can't seem to figure out where I go to
adjust the picture settings (namely for lighting and brightness). All the
so-called *ahem* "Help" file wants to do is talk about STREAMING VIDEO.

To that I say I'd LOVE to know who wrote that file because he/she/they
CLEARLY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY WRITE ONE (Or at least they don't know
how to write a help file that stays on topic for the product in which they
are trying to write the file for).

**MEMO TO MICROSOFT - References to Streaming Media in the help files of
your products belong in the WINDOWS MEDIA DEPARTMENT.

I had hoped to point this puppy out the window and see if it really had a
pan and zoom feature or if that was just a bunch of Redmond, WA fluff to get
me to buy this $35 cam. So far, all I've seen is the fluff. >(

Luckily I have no plans to get rid of my Logitech Communicate STX 100, which
has already proven itself to be reliable both pointed inside and outside and
as a result, I need another cam to do viral videos while still sending LIVE
video of the traffic to the world via my cam page (URL below if anyone cares
to see it BTW).

Can anyone help me out here?

Cheers :D
