I have an HP Compaq d330 desktop computer. It comes with a keyboard
with special buttons above the function keys used to launch email,
browser, search engine, etc.

It was working fine before my hard drive crashed, but after I tried to
reinstall everything I can't get it to work. Any ideas?

See if the Compaq "Easy Access Button" (EAB) software is installed and
operating. Look for EABServr.exe and similar.

Look to see if it's in Control Panel; if not, hit the Compaq
website/Support/download the appropriate SoftPAQ.

on my HP laptop it runs the "hp update" program in the systray .
At startup yesterday ( I hadn't used in a a month or so), I was notified
that the HP keys software (for vista) was updated.
If you have such an option in CP - turn it on and let the pc find the
update for you.
BTW I did download but not install, if you need the info let me know and
I can get it off the laptop ( not at the house right now)
