Hi all,

I recently burned some cdroms on an older Plextor 1210 (actually a
branded
Creative CDRW model RW1210E). I tend to have Nero Drivespeed running
when
I'm browsing a cd and had reduced the read speed to 4x. One of the
smaller files
came up blank - all zeros actually. Which ticked me off cause it was a
source code
file. Needless to say Windows doesn't notice a *** thing.

More investigation:
- The media is TDK Metallic 80 min CDR.
- (Nero cdspeed) reveals that the file is right at the end of the data
track
(the cdrom is about 250MB and finalised)

Letting the drive speed up to maximum lets me see the file contents
again!! This is bizarre to me! How can a slow read produce a corrupted
file..

Anyone seen anything like this before? CDSpeed won't run the C1/C2
disk quality
tests, probably cause the drive is a rebadged plextor.

Thanks,

Conor.
