I have an old computer with a Viewsonic GS15 20" monitor which I let
my many grandchildren use when they visit. This monitor has a
shrinkage problem that I would love to solve. When it is initially
booting into WIN XP, the displays on the screen are compressed
horizantilly. I can live with ths problem since as soon as WIndows is
loaded the display corrects to full screen.

My main problem is this monitor does its shrinking act when the kids
try to play games such as Hoyle Card Games or Hyperbowl, etc.

I have Powerstrip, but can't seem to correct the above problems by
tinkering with various settings of Powerstrip.

Any/all help appreciated. TIA! __JJ

Computer or monitor.... only one way to find out. Try another monitor or try the monitor on another computer as it could be either.

Guess another way would be to try nother video card, having said that Sod's law say's it'll be the monitor, so better finding out first.

I assume that you've tried adjusting the monitor while it's displaying
the lower resolution of the games (and the start-up screen)?

I really don't know how to adjust the resolution used during the boot
process?!?

I said adjust "the monitor". The buttons on the monitor will function
just fine during the boot process, or during the games.
