I tried to contact the guy who made SMF, but the messages return. Do
you know something that could be of help in my case?

Thanks and Regards,

Gert.

Hi there,

I tried to made the updade available at the USR site, but my modem
went "BOOT>". Then i found your site smf.ai.ru, but i didn't find a
specific file for me, so i tried with 00568600.
The sotware warned me it could not compatible, but i did it anyway
because the names were so similar... Now the modem got unresponsive!
:-(
It makes a strange noise and some lights are blinking. It only stops
if i ground pin 3 in the eeprom when i turn it on, but i never got the
"BOOT>" prompt anymore.

Is it possible to make it work again? In the faq you tell that you
can convert the USR .exe flasher, so i'm sending it to you. I renamed
it to .exu, as the mail won't let me send .exe files... I'm also
sending the dmf which is inside of it, just in case it helps.

Thanks in advance,

Gert.

Now, is there a way to update this eeprom, so it works again?

Gert:

After the BOOT> prompt try ATGM
