How good are Compaq desktop machines now that they are a brand of HP?
I had very good luck with them when they were a separate company but
it's been several years since I purchased one.

I think they are as good as any HP product; otoh, that might not be
much. Compaq are selling some really good performance machines for
general use that are quite inexpensive and leave $$ for other equipment.
I believe that these are very good for the internet surfer, etc.
