I have a wireless laptop which disconnects from the internet whenever I'm running a processor heavy task, eg: creating a large RAR file (400mb+).
Is the answer to set the wireless card to a higher priority via the Task Manager? If so, whats the safest way to do this?
If not, what can I do to solve this problem please?
Thanks for any help. |

What kind of processor do you have. It would seem uncommon (maybe i'm wrong) for a processor to be able to handle creating a 400+ mb file and not bog down. If your wifi card is ignored, a lot of other things probably are too. The only safe way around this that I can think of is not doing anything else while creating the file. You might also consider a faster processor if your aren't already dual core.

Do you know how to change process priority? Find your wireless card's process and step it's priority up a notch. Then find Explorer.exe and step it up to the same level for stability. You might want to change them back when you aren't creating uber massive files.
