My new HP came with a DVD combo drive listed as made by TSSTcorp,
apparently a subset of Samsung.

Had one for a short time, with no problems. Have the SH-S183L. Burns

fine so far, have not burned a lightscibe yet, but don't expect any
problem.

I have a model SH-S182D. I can't give you a lot of details about it
except that I'm satisfied with its operation (both as a DVD and a CD
burner).

I just use it for burning data (computer backups).
