That was the short version, full version: I installed it, did the requisite reboots after installing, then I decided to uninstall it to try out another antivirus to compare scan results. After doing so I read a few bad reviews about the one I was about to install so I just settled with NOD32 and reinstalled it.
The thing that might've caused all of this is it warns to completely uninstall other antiviruses before installing (which I figured I did, the only one on the machine was NOD and I uninstalled it) to "avoid serious problems." I may not have deleted the install file folder in it's root directory but that doesn't seem likely to have caused the boot loop that my computer has fallen into. Anyone have any words of help? |

People do run two anti viruses.... but they don't have them working at the same time, one has to be stopped, whether this is good or bad I'll let others comment.
Yikes.... think I would try and get into safe mode and try a restore to a last good setting that worked.
You could also try running a Check Disc, right clicking the hard drive icon opening properties and clicking tools and click 'Check Now' box and select Fix file System Error's, tick the top box only click start and then reboot machine.... the machine will restart when it has finished. What this does is repair any missing or corrupt start up files.
It may or may not work, at least no harm will be done, at a guess you didn't stop it from running in the background prior to un-installing.
This leaves me wondering if MBR (Master Boot Record) sector on the hard drive has been corrupted.
