Hi everyone:

I have a Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Webcam. I have the latest
drivers and software, yet when I aim it out my 7th floor apartment window to
show the world the view below, all I get is a whiteout effect that I
*CANNOT* even bring under control, much less eliminate.

I've tried turning the brightness, white balance, and backlight comp ALL THE
WAY DOWN (i.e. to the left in the properties box). This has had almost ZERO
effect.

Here are the settings (In value) in the properties box as they are now...

BRIGHTNESS - 5000
CONTRAST - 5000
SATURATION - 5000
SHARPNESS - 6000
WHITE BALANCE - 2812 (Auto)
BACKLIGHT COMP - 0

I'd like to have the flexibility of showing the happenings outside as well
as inside my apartment. What am I not doing right? PLEASE HELP.

I know this can be done because I've seen cams all over the web do this.

Any help in fixing this anomaly would be appreciated :)

Cheers :)
