|
|
Hi all, forgive my lack of technical terms, I'm not a technical person. My
5 year old, 1.6 GHz P-4 YGR-600 laptop seems as it might be ready to give up
the ghost. Recently the screen sometimes just goes blank, so I figured the
cable that connects the motherboard to the screen. No big deal, just leave
the screen in a position where the monitor works. Now all of a sudden the
computer will go into hibernate mode for no particular reason. Either
immediately after starting it up, or just while I am typing along, it just
decides to go into hibernate mode. I can find no common event that occurs
before this happens.
Are these related? Is this a known issue? Is there an easy fix? Or is it
just time to buy a new computer. (The laptop is essentially used as a
desktop these days. Always plugged in to AC. Yes, I have virus check,
etc.) TIA, --Steve |
