Hi,
I'm desperatly looking for an 17 or 19 inch LCD monitor that would
provide me with about 125dpi resolution. They don't seem to be easy to
find. Any suggestions ? |

Because there aren't any.
Buy a 100dpi 20" 1600x1200 and sit farther away. |

That would be 0.20mm dot pitch. You might try
searching that way.
In the 19in size, that also works out to
1900x1420 pixels, which may be just above
the limit for single-link DVI, even using CVT.

They aren't.
IBM used to have a 200 dpi. Sold the business.
Sony demo'd a .15mm CRT at COMDEX once, but
never released it.
Blame Mr. Bill.
Even though Windows has scalable system fonts and
icons now, there is still way too much code in use
that presumes the raster is between 70 and 90 dpi.
Many LCDs are already at 100 dpi, and it's
borderline for many users. 125 is just too high
for this epoch in computer history. If you can
find one, it may be a pricey specialty unit for
medical or GIS markets.
