Martin MC Brown's review of the RoHS refresh Ultra 20 workstation:
<URL:http://www.computerworld.com/blogs/node/4304>
| For Sun, workstations of any type were based on the SPARC processor -
| I cut my teeth on a Sparc2 and later a Sparc10 and over the years have
| owned an IPC, Ultra5, Ultra1, and currently own an Ultra60, while
| having an Ultra 3 Mobile Workstation on test from Sun for more than
| the last year now (and I still love it).

The Hardware Handbook states that the Ultra 3 workstations
were EOL'd last month.

Any word from Sun about their replacements?

Assuming there will be, is an x64-based system also in the mix?

I don't believe Sun actually made the Ultra 3 laptops.
They were actually made by Naturetech and Tadpole.

And I think General Dynamics owns them now.

You're right.

It appears GD bought Tadpole in 2005, but Naturetech appears to still be a
seperate company.
