|
|
Hi,
I'm building a PC using the Coolermaster Centurion case with a Abit
IC7-G motherboard. Mobo fits into case prefectly but I've ran into a
bit of a problem connecting the case wires to the mobo.
By case wires I mean the ones for the Power button, reset button, HD
light etc.
The problem is that on those wires it doesn't give me the polarity
i.e. which bits should go into + and -.
It says in my mobo instruction booklet that getting this wrong is a
no, no.
Does anyone have any experience of this. Or does anyone else have this
case with a better instruction booklet than I have.
Thanks in advance for your help. |

Hi Wanny,
Power & reset switches doesn't matter which way round.
The LEDs, if they don't work just switch the headers round the other way.
Won't do any harm if you have them wrong.

Another thought is that if there is a common color wire used for such
connectors (i.e. all pairs have a white wire along with a different
color wire), that common wire is normally ground or (-). As Groove
said, no permanent harm will occur if attached wrong, they just won't
work properly and light the LED. |

This is right.
The common colour is white which did turn out to be (-).
Thank you to both of you for your help. |
