|
|
I just put a system together with an AN8 board and a SATA RAID setup.
Everything is working nicely, and I would like to put the HDD from my
old machine in this PC temporarily to transfer over all my data. My
problem is that since the old drive has a boot.ini file, my new system
tries to boot to the old drive instead of the SATA drives. Is there a
way in the BIOS to set the PC to only boot from the RAID? No matter what
I have tried so far, the system tries to boot from the IDE drive first.
TIA

there is setting in the BIOS to set the boot order for SATAor IDE drives as
well as for the individual HD wether they are SATA or IDE.If you change that
to the proper order it should work.
There also is a key sequence you can push at start up that lets you decide
at that point which HD to boot from.
I cant remember the sequence but it should be listed in your manual or in
the Bios.

Thanks Peter, I read the manual several times, and somehow missed that
setting in the menus. I figured it was something simple, and it was.
Once I looked in the manual again after reading your post, it *** near
bit me. All is working now.
Thanks for the help.
