| I have a Gateway Profile 3T and am running Windows XP Home Edition. I downloaded a free trial of Virusfighter to try it out and now my computer starts up, but I can't open any programs at all. (I'm at work typing this). My warranty on my computer is long over...anyone know what I can try? I'm very limited when it comes to my computer knowledge. I just want to uninstall the software now but I can't even do that..b/c when I click on control panel it won't let me get add/remove programs. |

Try going to safe mode either try a restore to 'Last good configuration that worked' or to Add remove programmes and try tp delete it.
In safe mode only the bare essentials are running. Mi' ol' brains rattled a little harder.... you might be able to type msconfig in the run bar (click start and then run) looking at the start up tap on the far right... if it's in there untick the box to stop it running.
NOTE:
I alway's advise making a note of any changes in here so you can always revert back to them and also any changes in here you will have to reboot... you'll get a pop-up window saying changes have been made.... simply tick the box that say's "Don't show this again".
