I'm looking to improve the Opie and Anthony Live cam used in PalTalk.
BTW, O&A are the NY radio shock-jocks who've replaced Howard Stern on
FM radio. Currently they use a Logitech Orbit MP but they would like to
be able to zoom-in on their guests in addition to the Pan and Tilt
capabilities.

Anyone have a simple solution that will not require our radio host to
mess around? Such as a webcam with pan, tilt and optical zoom *or* a
surveillance cam with a USB plug-and-play VFW driver *or* a 3rd-party
tool that will capture streaming JPEG from a network cam's IP video
source and publish into a WDM selectable device?

Money is no object here but a simple solution is a must.

For good quality, the Sony P/T/Z cams are hard to beat.

Umm..is just me, or does anyone else wonder:

1) Why a New York radio station resorts to asking for camera info on a
Newsgroup???
2a) Why would they want to zoom in on their guests?....Who is going to
see them on a radio station?
2b) If it is a radio station, why do they need a camera at all?
3) "...a simple solution that will not require our radio host to mess
around?"...Ummm...can't they do two things at once?
:-)

Because there are several folks on here who generally know what they are
talking about... and this group is about... *ding* webcams?

You wouldn't have to ask this if you have heard their show.

Again... heh...

If there is a solution where they wouldn't have to, then why wouldn't you
want to free them up in order to do their jobs?

Err..if "money is no object", then I would assume that you would get a

fairly professional response from various companies in New York. I would
imagine that most 'reputable' companies would give a demonstration of
any products to show their capabilities and ease of use. Well, they
would here anyway. This in no way is denigrating anyone on the newsgroup
as I agree that there are several people here who know their stuff.

Bit difficult to hear a New York Radio station in Australia. As the

original post said that these people replaced Howard Stern and having
seen a few interviews with Mr Stern (unfortunately), I don't think I am
missing out on much.
