Hey.
What's everybody's opinion on my splicing a couple of device power
cables onto one of the lines that comes out of my 300-W power supply, so
as to let me have up to 5-6 IDE devices (with added controller, of
course; my power supply has only 4 + FDD). It'd look something like
this (boy, I hope this turns out).

it'll work. you can buy spliced ones for a couple of quid though, so why
bother?

Well, I didn't have any quid smile, but it was a Friday-night,
no-time-to-shop effort after the new hardware had arrived. Thanks for

300 Watts isn't enough for your planned computer.
